Hello, today i want to sharing about how to install Active Directory DomainService, a.k.a Domain Controller in Windwos Server 2012R2, alright lets go to the prerequisites..
Prerequisites
The thing that we need to prepare for deploying Domain Controller is :
- Windows Server 2012R2
Make sure that already got windows update for avoiding any chance of trouble when we install ADDS role
Installation
- Here I'm using Windows Server 2012 R2, with IP 10.90.50.52
- on Server Manager, click menu tools and then choose "Add roles and features"
- click next on window "before you begin"
- choose role-based installation
- choose a server that you want install "Active Directory"
- check Active Direcory Domain Service, click add features a pop-up will show up
- Make sure you check "Active Directory Domain Services" after that click next
- head over to options feature
- next again this only show informations about Service you choose
- Click install to start Active Directory Domain Service
- click "promote this server to a domain controller" to start configure
- if you want to use a new domain, you could choose "add new forest", and then type the domain
- Make sure your Forest Functional Level and Domain Functional Level the newest server or the highest prioroty, and type your password for root/adminstration in your domain
- on DNS part let it default, and click next
- NetBios is a domain name that you need to login, for example i type "LOAD" so when i need to login it will be something likethis "LOAD\Administrator"
- Next this path or choose your path for Database, Logi files folder or SYSVOL
- Make sure everthing is they way you want it after that click next
- Click install
- Server will automatically restart, if not then you could also do manual restart on your server
- Login with domain that you already made before, and make sure on Server manager you could see your domain :)
